I found The Greenhouse via their FaceBook page. I had managed to stop using drugs by then, but did not know that sobriety does not equal recovery, that not using drugs doesn’t mean that I am recovering from my addiction. I decided to join their meetings as I wanted to move beyond the sober stage into the recovery stage. It had been really lonely and difficult staying clean on my own.
I was skeptical of what I would find at first, but this has been a rewarding experience, and I have learnt a great deal from attending their meetings - skills that help me not just on a daily basis, but for life. I am grateful for the meetings and look forward to them every week. The participants inspire me to become a better version of myself, week after week. And I sincerely think that my presence of sharing my own stories and experiences also benefit those who are listening.
I would definitely recommend The Greenhouse to others who wish to stop using. This is a safe space, no judgements, only empathy is present. We are all like-minded people who sincerely want to reach out to get help, and recovery is the only main goal for all of us here.
